Russian computers “Beshtau” will be provided with domestic software

Russian computer hardware manufacturer GC Beshtau and domestic software developer GC ALMI announced a collaboration.

The strategic goal of the cooperation is the development of import substitution in the IT sector. Personal devices, which are currently produced by theBeshtauGroup of Companies, will arrive on the market with the AlterOS operating system and the AlterOffice office package pre-installed. The software is designed specifically for the needs of Russian users.

AlterOS is a FSTEC-certified domestic operating system that meets modern information protection requirements without loss of performance for efficient work of government and commercial institutions. It is included in the Unified Register of Russian Programs for Electronic Computing Machines and Databases under No. 3801 (Order of the Ministry of Communications of Russia No. 421 dated August 15, 2017).

AlterOffice is an office suite designed for working with office applications. It includes a wide range of components for working with text documents, tables and presentations, e-mail client, file manager, calendar and contacts, graphic editor, etc. The software product is included in the Unified Register of Russian Programs for Electronic Computers and Databases under No. 1114 (Order of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation). The software product is included in the Unified Register of Russian Programs for Electronic Computing Machines and Databases under No. 7114 (Order of the Ministry of Communications of Russia No. 522 dated 12.10.2020).

Beshtau Group of Companies is a Russian developer and manufacturer of computer equipment, with plants located in Rostov-on-Don and Essentuki. Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation registers 70 products of Beshtau Group, including Russian monoblocks and monitors. At the end of August 2022, the company opened new production lines for assembling boards for radioelectronic devices at its facility in the Don capital.
